PM, Sonia to launch rail link to Kashmir on June 25
The much-awaited railway section linking Kashmir valley with rest of the country will be launched on June 25 when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi jointly flag off the first train.

 “The Lesser Himalayas or The Jhelum Valley” (Kashmir),
 “The Inner Himalayas \ Trans-Himalayas” or “The Indus Valley” (Ladakh & Frontier areas)
 “The Outer-Himalayas which lies between southern mountain range” (Jammu).

The approximate area covering the State of Jammu & Kashmir is 2, 22,236 square kilometers.
